Any state quarterfinal game is huge. Today’s Blair Oaks-Macon contest goes beyond that.
“There’s going to be a huge crowd here,” Blair Oaks coach Brad Drehle said Friday night. “I’d guess there will be 5,000-6,000 people here. They’ll travel well and our people will come out. It will probably be the biggest one that we’ve had (ever).
“The Hermann game, we had a great crowd here that year in 2006 in the semifinal, and I think you’re going to see a bigger crowd. You look out here (Friday) and there’s already several seats in that center section people have come in and staked out their names. It’s going to be an awful lot of fun.”
Big crowd or not, today’s 1:30 p.m. matchup in the Class 2 quarterfinals in Wardsville between Blair Oaks and Macon has classic written all over it.
