Curators OK letter supporting 'Transformation' goals for LU

Lincoln University President Carolyn Mahoney got a homework assignment Friday that she asked the school's curators for: writing a letter showing the board's "support for Lincoln University's participation and efforts toward the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce "Transformation' (projects)."

Mahoney told curators the City Council has placed a half-cent economic development sales tax question on the Feb. 7, 2012, election ballot. She explained LU has several projects on the list, including the opportunity to move its nursing training program and a proposed culinary arts program to the current St. Mary's Health Center complex, after the hospital moves to its new location near Frog Hollow Road and Missouri 179, in 2015.
