Residents hear options for Renns Lake

A major portion of the process to determine what should be done with Renns Lake took place Thursday evening.

At an open house meeting at the Disabled American Veterans building on Monticello Road, representatives of Gredell Engineering Resources, with support of Central Missouri Professional Services and officials from Cole County, showed residents potential uses for the lake.

At Thursday’s meeting, the options put forth included rebuilding the dam and restoring the lake to its approximate original size and water levels. Another possibility would be to remove the dam and reconstruct the stream bed in the valley.
