Character education is getting a lot of attention lately. Our family benefited from it recently at the funeral of a dear relative.
As we exited St. Stanislaus Church in Wardsville after the funeral, we began to process past the school playground on our way to the cemetery. The school children were enjoying recess on this glorious fall day. Suddenly all playground noises ceased. We glanced over to see the teacher and students standing silently as we passed. This gesture of respect was very touching.
We thank the students and staff at St. Stanislaus. It was uplifting to experience this display of self-discipline, respect and kindness.
