Your Opinion: City urged to prohibit loud car stereos

Dear Editor:

How does one reach their city councilmen? Why list e-mail addresses on the city website if no one replies?

On to my proposal. Jefferson City has a real problem with excessively loud music from inconsiderate drivers. It's time for some changes to our city statutes. I have recommended to my city councilman that we implement a stiff fine for those with car stereos that can be heard 75 feet from their vehicle, of perhaps $250.

Instead of raising sales taxes to generate revenue, let's improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods. This is a win-win for Jefferson City.

Oh and if my ward representative reads this - I would really appreciate a response to my e-mail. Otherwise, I'll assume that we need new, young blood in office and consider challenging your incumbency.
