The Jefferson City Board of Adjustment has recommended approval of an off-site parking lot for the Capital Event Center.
At the board meeting Tuesday, new owner Ginny Dudenhoeffer said the center, located at 619 Ohio St., has a 188-person occupancy, but a 23-spot parking lot. She said she has an arrangement with the nearby Aaron’s store to use its 25 spaces after business hours, but would like to offer additional parking.
The proposed lot, which has not been finalized and could be changed, has an additional 20 spaces and is located across the street from the center, on residential property owned by the applicant. Because the new lot would be in a residential zoning district, a conditional use permit is required.
