Despite an announcement late last month that a bill to select an architectural firm for Jefferson City's new Fire Station 3 would be withdrawn, council members are expected to move forward with the unamended, original ordinance Monday.

Last month, the City Council debated a bill awarding a design contract to the Columbia-based Peckham & Wright Architects firm for the new fire station. The council voted 6-2 to approve an amendment to the bill, substituting any references to Peckham & Wright with Architects Alliance, a Jefferson City firm.

The move sparked a debate between council members on the firm selection.
