St. Louis Symphony veteran to retire

ST. LOUIS (AP) - One of the longest tenured musicians in the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will retire after the 2011-2012 season.

Contrabassoon and bassoon player Bradford Buckley has been a member of the highly-regarded orchestra for 44 years. Only four members of the symphony have been there longer.

Buckley is a native of Florida who has lectured on the contrabassoon at the International Double Reed Society and serves as an instructor at Washington University and Lindenwood University. He also served as a consultant on the instrument for the Fox Bassoon Co.
