Walk brings awareness to health issues in schools

Cross the line to better health with other Cole County residents starting at 2 p.m. Sunday at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City.

The event features an approximate one-mile walk and a variety of resources and activities that will help and encourage residents to become healthier and make better lifestyle choices.

A grant, called Reducing Health Disparities by Preventing Obesity among Women and Girls, was obtained by Marie Peoples, director of the Cole County Health Department. She said it was a natural fit to chose the school district as a partner.
