Panel votes against salary increase
Friday, November 4, 2011
The Cole County Salary Commission voted Thursday against increasing salaries for elected officials, but to take a cost-of-living increase with other county employees, should one be given.
When the county became a first-class county in 1997, state law required the creation of a salary commission composed of all county elected officials. They meet every two years to vote on whether to increase salaries.
