In most situations, coaches dislike any kind of distraction.
But in some circumstances, they're understandable, even enjoyable.
This is a case of the latter, as the Fatima Lady Comets are embracing the distractions that come with earning a spot in the Class 2 volleyball Final Four.
"It's been nuts," Fatima coach Mark Bockstruck said about this week. "Everybody in school is going crazy. This is a position Fatima hasn't been in for any sport in 15 years.
"There's a lot of hoopla around it. I'm not a huge fan of it, I would like to keep it business as usual. But like our superintendent said, this doesn't happen every day, so you've got to take advantage of it."
