Osceola man drowns in Osage River

OSCEOLA, Mo. (AP) - A 58-year-old Osceola man is dead after falling out of a boat and drowning in the Osage River.

The Missouri Water Patrol says Richard Harrington died in the accident Wednesday in St. Clair County.

The patrol says Harrington and another person were checking trout lines when he stood up and the boat capsized.

KSSZ reports that Harrington started to swim to shore but he stopped and started floating. Authorities say the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
