Cross country event to change Ellis traffic

Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday in Jefferson City, Ellis Boulevard from Tanner Bridge Road to Rosewood Drive will be one way eastbound.

This change is to accommodate the High School State Cross Country Championships held at Oak Hills Golf Center.

The street is expected to reopen to two-way traffic at about 2 p.m. the same day.

Detours will be posted.

Local drivers are urged to avoid the area during this time.

As a one-way street, Ellis will operate with three lanes. The Jefferson City Police Department, along with city staff, will help with signage and warnings to motorists about the temporary traffic change.

Organizers have been planning various parking sites and shuttles for the championship.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) is charging an admission fee at this year's championships.

For ages 6 and older, the fee will be $7, which is what the organization charges at many other events.
