MSP panel briefed on chamber team’s work
Wednesday, November 2, 2011
For years, one obstacle has stood in the way of grand plans coming to realization at the Missouri State Penitentiary — money.
The MSP Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday congratulated the MSP Action Team area of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce Transformation agenda on its research.
Part of the action team’s report to the state commission was the potential 10-year, half-cent city sales tax for economic development, which will be voted on Monday by the City Council.

How did the camber of commerce get the power to try to impose over a $60,000,000 tax increase on us! They are private ,not elected. I am not an attorney ,but I dont' think this is legal. Shame on our elected officials for letting it get this far. This tax is for private buisness,if these projects are such money makers let them pay. Lately our city officials have been wined & dined by the chamber, and remember most of them are buisness owners too! The 1%ers are always tryng to make their money with yours. We need to keep a close eye on them, They are trying to be like those in Washington. Show up onMonday!
