Jefferson City man accused of trying to entice girl, 14
Tuesday, November 1, 2011
A Jefferson City man has been charged with sending sexually explicit text messages to a girl under the age of 14 and arranging to meet her.
David Linnenbrink, 43, of 307 Tanner Bridge Court, is charged with enticement of a child.
As of Monday, he was being held in the Cole County Jail on $500,000 bond.
A probable cause statement from the Jefferson City Police Department shows Linnenbrink started sending the text messages to the girl about a month ago.
Linnenbrink even told the girl he would pay her if she would allow him to have sex with her.
This past Friday, Linnenbrink sent messages again to the victim.
Officers took the victim’s phone and corresponded back and forth with Linnenbrink, who arranged to meet with the victim during this time.
When he came to the victim’s residence, officers were inside and arrested Linnenbrink after he went through the victim’s back door and was walking toward the victim’s bedroom.
When questioned by officers, Linnenbrink admitted he had texted the victim.

Where is the girl in all this? She really isn't an innocent bystander. Why are her parents not monitoring her texting? I have to wonder if the girl told him the truth. If so he is very wrong but if not I have to second guess the girls intentions. After all 14 yr old girls can be quite a handful.

Is this the same one that was reported on KRCG last week? Because it said the girl was 12 and that the man's excuse was he thought she was 13. (Like that's any better.) This article also says the girl was under 14 - so I'm thinking it's the same case.
