COLUMBIA, Mo. — Maybe the third time will be the charm for the Missouri Tigers.

The Tigers clinched their third consecutive trip to the Women’s College World Series on Sunday night with a 6-3 victory over the Washington Huskies at University Field.

With the victory, the Tigers swept the Super Regional to become one of eight qualifiers for the World Series.

Missouri (52-8), the No. 5 seed in the 64-team tournament, opens against fourth-seeded Florida (52-10) at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Oklahoma City. Florida, which eliminated Missouri from the World Series last season, leads the eight qualifiers with 110 home runs.
