Jefferson City police investigating convenience store robbery

The Jefferson City Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store that occurred on Sunday night.
Police report Casey's General Store, located at 102 Eastland Drive, was robbed at approximately 10:46 p.m.
Casey's employees reportedly were closing the business when an unknown subject entered the store brandishing an unknown type of handgun. The subject demanded the clerk give up the money from the register. The subject then reached over the counter and took an undetermined amount of cash. The subject fled on foot around the north side of the building.
There were no injuries during the incident.
Police did not immediately release any description of the robber. The investigation is ongoing.
