Area athletes advance to nationals

A trio of area athletes will compete for Central Missouri in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Brent Vogel (Helias High School) is the No. 1 seed in the men’s decathlon. Erin Alewine (Jefferson City High School) has advanced in two events. Stephany Johnson (Jefferson City High School) will compete in the triple jump.

Adriel Hawkins (JCHS) of Missouri S&T is also an area NCAA Division II qualifier.
