Woman escapes night robbery attempts at ATM

Jefferson City police continue to investigate an attempted robbery that occurred early Monday morning.
According to police reports, at about 1:30 a.m., a male suspect approached a woman at the Central Bank ATM, located at Walmart on Supercenter Drive in the east end of Jefferson City.
The woman had just made a deposit via an ATM transaction and the male suspect attempted to rob her. She was able to drive away safely and she immediately called 9-1-1.
The only suspect description at this time is a white male.
The female victim was not harmed, nor did the male display any kind of weapon during the attempt.
As a reminder, authorities urge citizens to always stay vigilant and watch their surroundings, particularly when conducting business transactions of this nature and during evening or night hours.

Just one more reason to get a CCW. So many robberies and burglaries now, both day and night. So much crime, I carry 24/7. Not worried, not paranoid, Just Ready for the little pukes.

Thanks, january. It can only be a good thing to CCW. Don't know the exact numbers - I've heard violent crimes are down. Certainly CCW is contributing to this. And, because people CCW, we are ALL SAFER. Those who CCW look like those who don't CCW. I would guess there are other things people can do to be safe - with or without CCW.

to never i dont carry a gun but i did hunting as a kid -we grew up with guns and know how to respect them

to don, I understand. I grew up hunting and fishing and everything outdoor. I'm an active hunter and a pro active CCW permit holder. I wish every state would allow it's citizens who are legal the right to keep, bear and use any type of firearm as long as they are responsible and have gone thru training for hunting and such.
