Heading into the district meet two weeks ago, Blair Oaks track coach Mark Keys said the Lady Falcons had a goal of finishing in the top four at the state meet.
Two weeks later?
"I think we're definitely still on track," Keys said.
After winning team titles at the district and sectional meets, the Lady Falcons are set to compete in 10 events at the Class 2 state meet that begins today at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
Blair Oaks will have chances to score points today in the pole vault, the 4x800-meter relay and the 3,200-meter run.
The 4x800 team of Emily Cumpton, Maggie Dorge, Alyson Jones and Nicole Luckenhoff (10:26.64) finished third at sectionals, as did freshman Jessica Clark in the pole vault (9-6). Cumpton was first in the 3,200 with a time of 12:29.14.
"After those events, if we have 15 points we'll be sitting good," Keys said.
