In the latest installment of the Cole County surtax ordeal, the Blair Oaks R-2 School District has offered to pay just more than half of what county officials have determined it owes.
In a counter-offer to the county's most recent proposal to settle the surtax issue, the Blair Oaks School Board proposed several changes, including a stipulation that the amount that they repay be cut from approximately $656,000 to almost $330,000.
