Your Opinion: Research votes of elected officials

Dear Editor:

The Patient Affordable Health Care Act has nothing to do with the high risk insurance coverage. Missouri has had high risk insurance coverage for quite some time. In joining other states in trying to stop Obamacare from coming to fruition, I applaud the AG and all those who are fighting it.

Now the president is traipsing around the country in his continuing campaign mode, and "Immigration Reform" is back at the top of his talking-points. Those calling for security don't believe it's something to make jokes about. How about we just enforce the laws we have. In a recent hearing before the House (on C-SPAN), it came to light that Border Patrol has to ask permission and send an "environmental impact statement" then wait for approval to go on government lands, unless there's an emergency. I find this outrageous.

We have seen gas, food, and all products rise. Obama's answer is to spend more money, invest in green energy. He says "go out and buy a new car. Is he paying for it? Sending $2 billion to Brazil so we can buy back the oil they get, does anyone find that stupid? He has stopped drilling in the Gulf and others are having trouble getting permits to drill.

We have always had the ability to be energy independent, but if you're looking for (U.S. Sen. Claire) McCaskill to step up and start demanding to find out why we are not allowed to drill, why all those people in the Gulf are out of jobs, she was quite livid when gas was high during the last administration, why we can't have more refineries, why she has not supported any amendments to stop the EPA from implementing their "climate change" agenda, amendments that would stop ObamaCare, why he didn't get congressional approval for a war in Libya, out of control spending and stopping it, forget it.

She's tried to justify her taxes, overcharging "we the people" for her plane rides and will never ever question this president's policies, She says what she's told like a good little follower and hopes Missourians will continue to believe she "works for all Missourians."

I urge all voters to research their elected official's votes, quit repeating party talking-points and take the rose-colored glasses off. Obama wants to "re-establish that tone we had after Sept.11" so what does he do? He goes out and bashes anyone that disagrees with his policies.
