Falcons face tough task at district baseball tourney

Entering the district tournament with two-state ranked teams staring down at you could make some teams change their plan of attack.

That's not the case for the Blair Oaks Falcons.

"What we always tell our guys is that if we play to our strength and play our game, then that's what we're concerned about," Blair Oaks coach Harv Antle.

The third-seeded Falcons kick off the second season at 5:30 p.m. today against sixth-seeded Owensville in the first round of the Class 3 District 8 Tournament at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

It could be a tall task for the Falcons (13-7) to win their first district title since 2007, as they'll go against several top-level teams. Top-seeded St. Francis Borgia (19-4) is ranked second in the latest Class 3 poll from the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association, while second-seeded North Callaway (17-4) is ranked sixth.
