It was a time to honor those who had given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, but it was also a time to tell those left behind they will always be part of a larger family.
At the annual Law Enforcement Memorial on the north side of the state Capitol on Saturday morning, Sgt. Kevin Ahlbrand, president of the Missouri State Fraternal Order of Police said, "I can't imagine being in the shoes of our families as they allow us to do the job we were born to do. Thank you for sharing your loved one with us. They did not die in vain."
