Proposals to change the way future Jefferson City’s Public Schools high school classes are taught are focused on “academies.”
Those are groups of students with common interests and more specific areas of study.
It is not a new concept, and Jefferson City officials have visited an Indiana school that uses academies, and have studied a number of other districts around the nation. Those districts all say the concept generally has improved grades and reduced ....
