Salvation Army celebrating its legacy of helping those in need

When physical disability prevented Daniel Spinner from providing for himself, he needed a protector while he navigated the government-assistance programs.

When his personal resources and savings were depleted, he needed a shelter so he would not be homeless. When the state of his life began to overwhelm him, Spinner needed a defender to encourage him in the sad times and to make sure he took care of his health.

Monday through Sunday, the Salvation Army in Jefferson City will highlight its different services - the Center of Hope, meal programs, Christmas assistance, social ....
