Man gets life for robbery-shooting

A St. Louis man who was found guilty in connection with an October 2009 robbery and shooting in Jefferson City will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Cole County Presiding Judge Pat Joyce on Wednesday sentenced Patrick Harris, also known as Patrick Evans, 38, who had been found guilty by a Cole County jury following a trial in January.

According to police reports, the robbery occurred on the night of Oct. 13, 2009, at 611 E. Capitol Ave.

Harris was shot in the hand by one of the victims during an act of self-defense and then hid in an upstairs apartment.
