For most part, Jones liked what he saw from Blue Tigers

First-year Lincoln football coach Mike Jones had his final opportunity to watch his team in action before the summer.

The Blue Tigers finished practice with the annual spring game Saturday afternoon at Dwight T. Reed Stadium, and Jones walked away with a good feeling after watching his team’s performance.

“I was pleasantly surprised,” Jones said. “Some guys I thought could have played a little better and they didn’t. We had some guys that stepped up and played extremely well. All in all, I thought it was a solid spring game. ... I think the guys worked hard all spring and they deserve to be commended for what they did.”
