One shooting suspect pleads not guilty

One of two suspects in a fatal shooting from earlier this month entered a plea of not guilty to the charge he was facing Wednesday afternoon.

Rondric Hunt, 24, of 312 E. Dunklin St., is charged with unlawful use of a weapon by shooting at a vehicle, resulting in the death of Cortez Bellamy, 24, on March 12.

Cole County Associate Circuit Judge Tom Sodergren also set April 5 for a hearing for Terrell Edwards, 28, of 316 Cherry St., also charged with unlawful use of a weapon in this case. He said he would be hiring an attorney to represent him so he entered no plea.
