Search continues for missing plane in SE Missouri

OXLY, Mo. (AP) - A search continues for a single-engine airplane that disappeared from radar early Sunday while flying over southeast Missouri.

The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic reports that Civil Air Patrol pilots and ground crews covered more than 1,600 square miles on Monday, but found no sign of the plane. Tuesday's search was called off due to bad weather. The search was scheduled to resume Wednesday.

Ripley County Sheriff Ron Barnett says the missing plane last registered on radar at 1:40 a.m. Sunday. The plane was traveling from Arkansas to Wisconsin. Details about who was on board have not been released.
