Man charged with murder in death of wife

UNION, Mo. (AP) - First-degree murder charges have been filed against a Franklin County man accused of killing his wife, then trying to hide the crime by sending bogus text messages to the couple's children using her cell phone.

The charges were filed Monday against 39-year-old Randy Price of Robertsville. He is jailed on $1 million cash-only bond in the death earlier this month of 36-year-old Tiffany Price.

Police were called to the family home by a teenage daughter who said her father had shot himself. Police found Randy Price with a gunshot wound to the head.

The 14-year old daughter told police that her father had said that Tiffany Price would be gone for a few days. The daughter said she sent text messages to her mother's cell phone and got responses, but only by text.
