Grade school student caught with loaded gun

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis County grade school student is facing unspecified discipline after bringing a loaded gun to school.

Police confiscated the gun Monday at Gibson Elementary School in the Riverview Gardens School District. The school sent a letter home to parents advising them of the incident.

The letter says the gun was kept in a backpack and was not used to threaten anyone. But a district spokeswoman says the gun was loaded.

No one was hurt. The age of the child with the gun was not released.
