5 officers involved in crime photo scandal
Wednesday, March 30, 2011
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Attorneys say five St. Louis police officers have now admitted to sharing a graphic cell phone photo of the body of a man killed in a March 8 shootout with authorities.
The revelation came Tuesday during a federal court hearing.
Attorneys say a SWAT unit officer took the picture of Carlos Boles and forwarded it to another officer. It was eventually forwarded to a total of four officers before mistakenly being sent to someone outside the department.
The department sued for the cell phone records of the officers. A hearing is Thursday.
U.S. Marshals and police went to Boles’ home to arrest him on drug and assault charges. Authorities say he opened fire, killing a deputy marshal and wounding two others. Police returned fire, killing Boles.

Was this really a "crime photo scandal" or just some grieving Cops who used bad judgment? Perhaps they need some sensitivity training, the Cops I mean....but from what I read no laws were broken and Mr. Boles did in fact get killed after "he" chose to kill one Cop and wound two other Cops who were only trying to arrest him on a drug and assault Warrant. It's regretful that anyone had to die in this mess and the police electronically displaying the corpse of Carlos Boles was in bad taste. IHO those who did it most likely acted out of anger for the violent acts of Mr. Boles. Yes, it's true the officer's should have been more professional, but I'm not willing to nail them to the cross....and I will not accept that Mr. Boles or his family are victims of evil, rouge, corrupt Cops or a corrupt, over aggressive justice system! Mr. Boles caused this entire mess........nobody else!!!!

This was done in poor taste, and the department of these men are not liking it either. They liked seeing this man dead, which is why they circulated the picture in the first place. They were not to judge him or anyone else!!!!
