Vogel honored by MIAA after top decathlon score

Central Missouri’s Brent Vogel was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Men’s Track Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Competing in the Angelo State Spring Break Multi-Event Meet in San Angelo, Texas, Vogel won the Gold men’s decathlon with a total of 7,238 points.

The score by Vogel (Helias High School) is the best score this season in any division of the NCAA and automatically qualifies him for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
