Jefferson City officials want to see a tunnel that goes under Union Pacific's railroad tracks to Adrian's Island. But where does Union Pacific stand on the matter?

More than a year after the Jefferson City Council approved the tunnel project - which Parks and Recreation Department Director Bill Lockwood anticipated would be finished sometime this summer - Union Pacific officials are still reviewing the proposal.

Mike Davis, spokesman for Union Pacific, said the main concern for the railroad company is safety.
