Hartzler explains need for federal budget, economic changes

The federal government has “been on a reckless spending spree” for a number of years, U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler told about 100 Mid-Missourians constituents Monday afternoon.

Using colorful charts and graphs in a PowerPoint presentation to help make her point, Hartzler, R-Harrisonville, noted the largest share of federal spending is consumed by “entitlement” programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
