KC-area man found guilty of killing pregnant woman

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Grandview man has been convicted of killing a pregnant woman in Kansas City.

The Jackson County prosecutor's office says jurors found Calvin Boswell guilty on Friday of two counts of second-degree murder for fatally shooting 25-year-old Ashley Thomas in November 2009 when she was nine months pregnant.

Prosecutors said she had been sitting in a car with her boyfriend and another man when shots were fired into the vehicle. The two men also were hit, but they survived.

The Kansas City Star reported that sentencing for Boswell is scheduled for May 27.
