The Capital City Cook-off, the Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned state championship to benefit Special Learning Center, is April 15-16 at the Jaycee Cole County Fairgrounds.
The event features the Butt to Butt Championship, the Fifth Annual Buck-A-Bone event including all the ribs you can eat, Backyard Division event and Kids-Q.
Barbecue legend, Squealers Award Winning Barbecue will make their second stop of the 2011 barbecue contest season at the cook-off. They have won more than 65 awards at assorted national barbecue, world barbecue and Ribfest events.
Hours are from 5-10 p.m. April 15 and from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 16. Tickets on April 15 are $15 which includes admission to the Buck-A-Bone all you can eat ribs. Saturday's ticket is $5 and provides admission to the Bluegrass Festival, featuring Red Bridge, The Martin Family and Summit Grass.
