Festival district challenged by local bar owner

Jefferson City residents may soon have the chance to toast the City Council for a new ordinance.
During Monday night’s meeting, discussion continued regarding the potential creation of a district that would allow open containers in downtown Jefferson City for designated events.
The festival district received the most discussion Monday night. It started during the public comment period when Brett Courtney, owner of the Tiki Room Bar & Grill voiced his disapproval for the potential creation of the the district, which would be used when events obtain a permit.
