Teter named new director of Missouri Democratic Party

A former campaign aide to Sen. Claire McCaskill has been hired as executive director of the Missouri Democratic Party.

The state party says Matthew Teter began his new role Tuesday. He’ll replace Brian Zuzenak, who is leaving March 31 after a transition period.

Teter most recently worked as executive director of a nonprofit organization in Philadelphia that provides housing to people with AIDS.

He worked on McCaskill’s unsuccessful 2004 campaign for governor. McCaskill won election to the U.S. Senate in 2006 and is up for re-election next year.
