When the flood of book-buyers streamed into the library’s annual book sale Wednesday afternoon, many toward the front of the line had their trusty bar scanners in hand.
These weren’t your average bookworms. They were professional book sellers, some driving from other parts of the country in search of bargains and profits. Minutes after the doors at the St. Martins Knights of Columbus hall flung open, several hundred people were poring through the estimated 130,000 books being sold.
Call it March Madness, Missouri River Regional Library style.
