Police: Shooting likely tied to fight at club

Saturday morning’s homicide most likely stemmed from a Friday night disturbance at a local private club, Jefferson City police said Monday.

Cortez Ray Bellamy, 24, was fatally shot in the head about 3:50 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Broadway and West Dunklin streets. He died that afternoon at University Hospital in Columbia.

No arrests have been made.
