Vogel, Alewine among D-II’s best

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Three area athletes competed for the University of Central Missouri at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Brent Vogel (Helias High School) finished second in the men’s heptathlon.

Erin Alewine (Jefferson City High School) earned All-America in two events at the championships.

Stephany Johnson (Jefferson City High School) finished ninth in the women’s triple jump Saturday night. She finished at 38-5.
