A Jefferson City man was in critical condition Saturday night at Columbia's University Hospital, where he was flown after his scooter overturned on Missouri Boulevard at midday Saturday.
Jefferson City Police said Thomas E. Cusick, 49, was eastbound on a 2008 Shanghai Shenke motor scooter, when he lost control in the 1300 block as he approached Virginia Street.
Cusick was thrown from the scooter as it overturned.
Police said he was taken first to St. Mary's Health Center, then flown to Columbia.
The accident happened at 12:23 p.m. Saturday.
