New to Jefferson City, Annette Cook attended the annual ABLE/Missouri River Regional Library Book Sale about four years ago.
When she walked through the doors of the St. Martin’s Knights of Columbus Hall and saw the thousands upon thousands of books, she was shocked. But what struck her even more was all of the work that went into an event, and what the funds raised did.
“I became interested in ABLE and what it was and what it did,” said Cook, now a board member and tutor for Adult Basic Literary Education (ABLE).
