Trials set for former Missouri player

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Former Missouri running back Derrick Washington faces two trials within the next month on the charges that led to his dismissal from the team.

Washington is set to go on trial March 30 on misdemeanor domestic violence charges and April 6 on a charge of felony sex assault. He has pleaded not guilty.

The one-time Tiger captain is accused of entering the bedroom of a former Missouri tutor while visiting her roommate last June and sexually assaulting the woman in her sleep.

Washington was later charged with two counts of domestic assault after an ex-girlfriend said he hit her in the face five to 10 times and choked her during an argument.

He was kicked off the team days before the start of the 2010 season.
