Household hazardous waste center opening set

Jefferson City officials announced Monday that the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will open March 23.

The project, which is a cooperative effort between the city, Cole County and Allied Waste Services, will provide a location for residents to safely dispose of their hazardous waste.

Residents will be able to schedule appointments with the center, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from March until October. The center is located at 2310 Hyde Park Road.

A complete list of the items that are and are not accepted can be found at the city’s website,, or at the Community Development Office at City Hall.
