Fasting students gnaw on lessons in sacrifice, world need
Monday, March 7, 2011
The 55 eighth-graders at St. Joseph Cathedral School will have the chance to experience the Bible first-hand.
A 24-hour Food Fast, a tradition for many years now for the upper-classmen of the parochial school, will allow the students to experience true hunger and to follow through on their commitments.
In addition to the personal sacrifice, they will collect donations. And in return, they will pray for those who give.
