So much for the Lincoln baseball team easing its way back into the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
When their schedule was released, the Blue Tigers were going to play five non-conference games before returning to their former conference to play a schedule that boasts 44 MIAA games.
As the season opens today with four games in a weekend at conference foe Fort Hays State, those warmup games are a distant memory.
“We’ve gone from probably being one of the first teams in the area to play to maybe being one of the last,” Lincoln coach Jim Dapkus said.
