Senator proposes constitutional change for "sovereignty'

A state Senate freshman wants Missourians to change the state Constitution and tell the federal government we'll adopt only the laws we want.

"(This) is really nothing more than a simple amendment ... that, in essence, says the state of Missouri will not recognize, enforce or act in furtherance of any action on the part of the federal government that is not constitutional," said Sen. Brian Nieves, R-Washington.
